Join Us and Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition for Harvest Day, Saturday, October 1, 2022. 10am-1pm at the corner of Fairway and Cummins, Mattapan This year, Mattapan Open Streets/Open Studios is partnering with the Mattapan Farmer's Market to host Harvest Day, a fall celebration with vendor tables, performances and games for people of all ages. Thank you to Brothers Restaurant and to the community members who came to enjoy the Pop-up Jazz Brunch! Many residents said they loved it and they wanted more live events. People who normally would have grabbed their food and gone, sat down, spent time together and ate. Several people sang along the holiday themed live music, and some even made requests. Children and parents alike danced. A little girl said she had never seen a person play the piano in real life before.
This is why this work in this community matters. Special Thanks to Fulani Haynes Jazz Collaborative!

Opening Night Success!
Our Opening Night was a hit. Despite competing events, we had a strong turnout at Brothers Deli and Restaurant and got to celebrate arts of and by Mattapan youth. With spoken word by Priscilla "Dzidzor" Azaglo, and perfomances by MusiConnects. Congratulations to the artists Marquette Welch, "Mistah" Matt Parker, Carmen Belizaire, Zachary Belizaire and Caleb Belizaire!
We won the Make Bread challenge!
April 2017 We're very proud to announce that Powerful Pathways' placemaking initiative, Mattapan Open Streets/Open Studios, has won MAKE BREAD's pitch competition, SOUP - a community crowdfunding event. Four groups shared their projects with the community and in one evening they raise funds and select a group to receive those funds. Allentza Michel pitched the idea and community members overwhelmingly voted for Mattapan Open Streets/Open Studios. Thank you MAKE BREAD and the community members who voted for us!
